Hi all,
as everybody can verify, if you go to the ***URLs are hidden from guests, please register and login to view the hyperlink*** from a desktop PC, all you can get is a web page showing a list of applications, with a short description of each of them.
Instead, by accessing the market with the G1's browser, the TOS is proposed and, after having accepted the terms of usage, you can browse over the apps categories and download each of them.

Given that, I supposed to be able to gain access to the market section reserved to G1 users by using firefox and by swithing the user agent in order to personify the G1 ( I found the appropriate strings in ***URLs are hidden from guests, please register and login to view the hyperlink***).

Very brillant idea, isn't it ?
Unfortunately, this attempt failed..

Which other ways are used to distinguish a G1 device with respect to the all the rest of the browsers :?: :?:

Any useful information on this issue will be appreciated !
Looking forward to reading you.

if you really want to see how an android device accesses the marketplace , enable wifi and sniff the entire conversation over the router/etc. I am also curious as to how I can rip the market place from a desktop pc without raising suspicion or getting by device blacklisted. wireshark ++ wireless router ++ g1/mytouch 3g == android market place access , I'd say it's MUCH more than just the user agent, to tell for sure you need to sniff the traffic. If it's encrypted, it would be even more complicated. Has anyone done the groundwork on this ?
