Hi all,

I am having a silly problem with this image and i was wondering if you could help?

When i start eclipse and try to create a new android application it says it cannot find android.jar

If i ignore this error and continue it comes up with errors about not being able to find the path to import any of the android libraries.

I am not familiar with the eclipse environment but i am sure this is an easy fix... do you have any pointers?

If it helps i was basically trying to follow the "Hello Android" tutorial.

Thanks

Ori

Hi oriarte,
I succeeded to create an Android project by running Eclipse from the root account of the vmware box.

On the other hands, it seems to me that the Eclipse's profile on the android account lacks of the path of the Android SDK.
If so, to be able to create an Android project from the non-root account, try the following:
- select Android plugin using Window->Preference in Eclipse
- in the SDK location path, add: "/usr/local/opt/android_SDK_Linux_M3-RC37a" (copy&paste the string from the setting of the root account).

Alternatively, you can try to upgrade the linux box to Release 1.0 of the Android SDK by following the step-by-step instructions in the Google's site.

Hope it helps.

However its taking SO long... In the mean time I've installed and built one of my own.

Though I'll crack on with the download and check the differences...

it actually makes more sense to create a virtualized image of ***URLs are hidden from guests, please register and login to view the hyperlink*** and then do development
:)
This is my approach
